OMO Advert CSP

1) W hat year was the advert produced? 1955 2) How were women represented in most adverts in the 1950s? They were treated as housewives and inferior to men. 3) How does the heading message ('OMO makes whites bright') and the typography promote the product? It is a persuasive text which persuades people to buy the product. 4) Analyse the mise-en-scene in the advert (CLAMPS): how is costume, make-up and placement of the model used to suggest women's role in society? Her makeup reinforces the expectations of 'perfection' (to look pretty even when doing house work). This also suggests that women shoulod be happy whilst doing work as she is smiling. 5) Why is a picture of the product added to the bottom right of the advert? 1 CLIP 1 narrative and genre: the story is about a man called Azrael and women called Mrs coulter and a girl called lyra. so in the video clip its showing both characters arguing about not trying to find lyra. However, Mrs coulter disagree this video shows fantasy as they are showing different world. technical codes: the first shot in the video is over shoulder shot where they are arguing about not finding lyra. The background sound shows the tension between the two character arguing through out the video. The mise en scene I choose is props. This sis because on the background you can see pieces of plane hanging around and other sort off things. This helps the audience to understand whats going on through out the clip.
